What We Do
ETD collects true stories from people whose lives have been impacted by mental health issues, and we sculpt their actual words into monologues and scenes. Our ensemble of professional actors then brings these stories to life onstage in a theatrical performance before a live audience.
Every performance is followed by a moderated, interactive dialogue with the audience that explores the play’s themes and, when appropriate, identifies mental illness signs, symptoms, recovery options, and community resources. ETD provides mental health literature from nationally recognized organizations free of charge so that audience members can access help if they need it.

“One of the most compelling pieces I’ve seen in a long time. People were relating to the stories told onstage and making deep connections with their own lives, and the lives of loved ones.”

“As a person who has struggled with depression/anxiety, I found [the show] so very healing and personal. As a theatre creator, I marveled at your success in engaging both our hearts and our analytical minds.”
